How Dental Implants Work
Give Anesthetic
Dr. Krauss believes dental work should be painless. That’s why the first step in an implant procedure is to make sure you won’t feel any pain. We deliver just the right amount of anesthetic to make sure your procedure is comfortable and pain free.
Place Implant
An implant is a small, titanium screw that is placed (“implanted”) into the jawbone. Later, a natural-looking replacement tooth is attached to the top this implanted screw.
Fuse to Jawbone
Implants fuse with your natural jawbone, forming a strong, long-lasting bond. This is what makes implants feel as close to real teeth as possible. The fusing process can take a few weeks or a few months, but in the meantime you can go about your everyday life.
Connect Tooth
After the implant and jawbone have formed a strong bond, a replacement tooth is attached to the implant. Congratulations! You now have a new permanent tooth that looks and feels natural.
