“It’s not worth doing if you’re not going to do it right” is a principle that Dr Krauss and Bakersfield Smile Design strive to live by. After earning multiple scholarships to attend Loma Linda University School of Dentistry, Dr. Krauss applied that principle and received multiple awards before graduating in 2001 with a Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) Degree. He is a member of the Amarican Dental Association, the California Dental Association and the Tri-County Dental Association. When Bakersfield dentist, Dr Krauss, began his education in Dentistry, he made a commitment to excellence which is reflected in by his commitment to stay at the forefront of his field by frequently attending educational conventions, seminars and training courses in order to stay current on the latest advancements in the world of dentistry.
Over the past 10 year Dr. Krauss has remained at the forefront of technology in order to provide his patients with a less painful dental care experience. His continuing education includes advanced training in implant dentistry, full-mouth reconstruction as well as keeping up with the latest innovations in cosmetic dentistry.

Root Canals
There are tiny canals within your tooth that may become infected. This leads to the pulp inside your tooth also becoming diseased. Bakersfield Smile Design combines the latest technology with precision and skill to to remove any infection throughout the root. The canals are then filled and the tooth receives either a filling or a crown. The techniques we use ensure minimal discomfort during the procedure and quicker recovery times.
Wisdom Teeth Extractions
Wisdom teeth extraction is done when there is not enough room for their eruption. Some times Wisdom Teeth extraction is recommend even if they are not yet causing problems, as a preventative measure, in order to prevent any future problems. Every case is different. Dr. Krauss will examine your wisdom teeth using an electronic imaging device, to determine if they can simply be extracted or if oral surgery is needed to extract your wisdom teeth.
Tooth Extractions
If your tooth has been broken or damaged by decay, we will try to fix it with a filling, crown or other treatment. However, sometimes there is too much damage for the tooth to be repaired. If this is the case, the tooth needs to be extracted. There are many other times when tooth extraction is necessary. Find out if you may need a tooth extracted.
